The development of shelter through the ages was obviously shaped by our cultures, but conversely, shelters would have helped shape our cultures! After all, our ability to adapt to various and extraordinarily harsh environments is in large part due to the human mastery of shelter craft. Jungles, mountains, artics, deserts, plains, and forests, there is virtually no place on the planet that we have not learned to inhabit.
In modern times our skill and knowledge of shelters are directly proportional to our comfort and enjoyment in the outdoors, and in some cases maybe even our survival!
Come and explore this important aspect of outdoor living and bushcraft. Whether or not your interest is in camping, survival, to revive lost skills, or simply to have strategies if and when things go bad, there will be something for everyone!
